According to the Tianjin Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2 new cases of novel coronavirus were confirmed from 22:00, 4 February to 6:00, 5 February, making the total number of confirmed cases in Tianjin up to 69.
The 68th case is a 64-year-old female living in Baodi District. She shopped without wearing a mask in the clothing area on the first floor of the Baodi Department Store in the afternoon of 20 January. She had a fever and diarrhea on 29 to 30 January and was not relieved after taking medicine by herself. She was admitted to the fever clinic of Baodi People’s Hospital accompanied by her family on 3 February and was then confirmed as the 68th case, in common conditions, in Tianjin by the expert panel. The patient is now in Haihe Hospital with stable vital signs. Three close contacts of the patient are under isolated medical observation and other close contacts are under tracking. Terminal disinfection is being conducted to the patient’s house.
The 69th case is a 76-year-old female living in Baodi District, a relative of the 53rd case. The woman didn’t shop in the Baodi Department Store, where a clustering epidemic happened. She had a fever on 3 February and was admitted to the fever clinic of Baodi People’s Hospital the following day. She was then confirmed as the 69th case, in common conditions, in Tianjin by the expert panel. The patient is now in Haihe Hospital with stable vital signs. Two close contacts of the patient are under isolated medical observation and other close contacts are under tracking. Terminal disinfection is being conducted to the patient’s house.
Tianjin has confirmed a total of 69 cases of pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus so far, among which 37 are males and 32 females, with 4 in critical conditions,19 in severe conditions and 43 in common conditions. And 198 suspected cases are also reported in the city. Two patients were discharged from hospital after recovery and one died. A total of 523 close contacts have been traced, and among them, 21 are confirmed cases, 45 are discharged and 457 others are under medical observation.
