Two additional coronavirus cases were confirmed from 22:00, 6 to 6:00, 7 February, increasing the total number in Tianjin to 81, according to the Tianjin Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
The 80th case is a 51-year-old female who lives in Baodi District, and she shopped in the women’s wear sector on the first floor and the second floor area of the Baodi Department Store on 23 January. She developed feebleness and sore muscle on 2 February and the symptoms did not relieve much with self-medication treatment. The woman experienced fever on 4 February and was relieved after taking medicine. She had fever again the following day and drove to the fever clinic of Baodi People’s Hospital accompanied by her family. The woman was tested positive on 7 February and was diagnosed as the 80th confirmed case, in common conditions, in the city by the expert panel.
The patient is now in Haihe Hospital. Two close contacts of the patient are under isolated medical observation and other close contacts are under tracking. Terminal disinfection was conducted to the patient’s house.
The 81st case, a 65-year-old male who lives in Baodi District, is a close contact of the 72nd confirmed case and he dined at his neighbor’s house five times from 20 to 31 January. The man felt uncomfortable on 31 January and was relieved after taking medicine. He developed a fever on 4 February and drove to the fever clinic of Baodi People’s Hospital the following day. He was tested positive for coronavirus on 7 February and was diagnosed as the 81st confirmed case, in common conditions, in the city by the expert panel. The patient is now in Haihe Hospital. Two close contacts of the patient are under isolated medical observation and other close contacts are under tracking. Terminal disinfection was conducted to the patient’s house.
Tianjin has confirmed a total of 81 cases so far, among which 45 are males and 32 females, with 7 in critical conditions, 28 in severe conditions, 42 in common conditions and 1 in moderate conditions. 245 people were suspected of being infected with the virus. Two patients were discharged from hospital after recovery and one died. A total of 599 close contacts have been traced, and among them, 21 are confirmed cases, 70 are discharged and 508 others are still under medical observation.
