One new case of novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) was confirmed between 11pm on February 11 and 6am on February 12, bringing the total number of NCP cases in Tianjin to 107, according to the Tianjin Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
The 107th case is a 49-year-old man who lives in Lintingkou town, Baodi district. He has no recent history of travel or work in Wuhan, but is the husband of the 93rd case. He developed a headache and nasal obstruction on February 5, and took cold medicine until the symptoms disappeared on February 7. The man went to the Lintingkou morning market on February 8. He was admitted to the fever clinic of Baodi People’s Hospital along with his wife on February 9 and was placed in the isolation ward for treatment. He was tested positive on February 11 and was diagnosed as the 107th confirmed case in the city, in common conditions, by the expert panel. He is now in Haihe Hospital. Close contacts of the patient are under medical treatment and other close contacts are being tracked.
Tianjin has confirmed a total of 107 cases so far, among which 59 are males and 48 females, with four in critical condition, 29 in severe condition, 61 in common condition and one in moderate condition. Ten patients were discharged from hospital after recovery and two have died. 331 people are suspected of being infected with the virus.
