Tianjin reported 1 new confirmed case from 6:00 to 18:00, 20 February, bringing the total of COVID-19 cases in the city to 131, and 5 people discharged from hospital, according to the Tianjin Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
The 131st case is a 49-year-old female who lives in Haibin Neighborhood Community, Baodi District without travel or working history to Wuhan, the epicenter of the disease. She shopped in the clothing area of the Baodi Department Store on 23 January, and developed fever symptom on 30 January and turned to self-medication treatment without visiting a doctor. She was taken under home-based quarantine on 1 February, during which she had cough and fever symptoms and did not go to the hospital. She visited the fever clinic of Baodi People’s Hospital on 8 February and was diagnosed as a suspected case, admitted to the isolation ward for treatment. Her fourth result of nucleic acid testing was positive on 20 February. The woman was confirmed as the 131st case, in common conditions, in the city by the expert panel. She is now in Haihe Hospital. Close contacts of the patient who were traced are under medical observation and other close contacts are under tracking.
Tianjin has confirmed a total of 131 COVID-19 cases so far, among which 71 are males and 60 females, with 2 in critical conditions, 20 in severe conditions, 46 in common conditions and 1 in mild conditions. 59 patients walked out of hospital after recovery and 3 died. 164 people are suspected of being infected with the virus. A total of 1,986 close contacts have been traced, and among them, 775 are under medical observation.
