One additional case of COVID-19 was confirmed from 6:00 to 18:00, 27 February, bringing the total of COVID-19 cases in Tianjin to 136, and another 6 people were discharged from hospital, the number of discharged cases rising to 102, according to the Tianjin Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The 136th case is a 41-year-old male who is deputy director of the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine of Haihe Hospital. He has been engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 cases in Haihe Hospital, and is mainly responsible for the rescue of patients in critical conditions. He has performed invasive operations such as tracheoscopy, tracheal intubation and deep venous puncture for patients many times. The doctor developed fever on 25 February, and was tested negative on 26 February and positive on 27 February. He was confirmed as the 136th case, in common conditions, in Tianjin by the expert panel. He is now in Haihe Hospital for treatment. Three close contacts of the patient who were traced are under medical observation and other close contacts are under tracking.
Tianjin has confirmed a total of 136 COVID-19 cases so far, among which 73 are males and 63 females, with 1 in critical conditions, 7 in severe conditions, 21 in common conditions, and 2 in mild conditions. 102 patients have been discharged and 3 died. 57 people are suspected of being infected with the virus. A total of 2,238 close contacts have been traced, and among them, 413 are under medical observation.
