Tianjin confirmed 4 newly imported cases of COVID-19 with 3 of Chinese nationality and 1, French nationality amid no new domestically transmitted cases from 18:00, March 22 to 6:00, March 23, bringing the total of imported cases of COVID-19 in Tianjin to 5 (4 of Chinese nationality and 1, French nationality), according to the Tianjin Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The 2nd imported case is a 38-year-old Frenchman who lives in Paris. He arrived at Tianjin Binhai International Airport at 12:30, March 22 by flight CA934 from Paris to Beijing, with body temperature at 37.9℃ and such symptoms as fever, dry cough and headache reported by himself. He tested positive on March 23 and was confirmed as the 2nd imported case of COVID-19 in Tianjin, in common conditions, by the expert panel. The patient is now in Haihe Hospital and epidemiological investigations are under way.

The 3rd imported case is a 31-year-old Chinese woman who lives in Paris, wife of the 2nd imported case. She arrived at Tianjin Binhai International Airport at 12:30, March 22 by flight CA934 from Paris to Beijing, with body temperature at 36.7℃ and dry cough and pharyngeal pain reported by herself. She was confirmed as a close contact with no COVID-19 symptoms found by the customs authorities, and tested positive on March 23. The woman was confirmed as the 3rd imported case of COVID-19 in Tianjin, in common conditions, by the expert panel. The patient is now in Haihe Hospital, and epidemiological investigations are under way.

The 4th imported case is a 25-year-old male, a Chinese citizen who lives in Zhumadian City, Henan Province. He arrived at Tianjin Binhai International Airport at 12:30, March 22 by flight CA934 from Paris to Beijing, with body temperature at 37.8℃. He reported that he developed a fever with the temperature at 38.0℃ on March 14, and pharyngeal pain and saw a doctor on March 17. He tested positive on March 23 and was confirmed as the 4th imported case of COVID-19 in Tianjin, in common conditions, by the expert panel. The patient is now in Haihe Hospital, and epidemiological investigations are under way.

The 5th imported case is a 44-year-old woman of Chinese nationality, who lives in Paris, a close contact of the 4th imported case. She arrived at Tianjin Binhai International Airport at 12:30, March 22 by flight CA934 from Paris to Beijing, with body temperature at 36.9℃ and no COVID-19 symptoms reported by herself. She was confirmed as a close contact with no COVID-19 symptoms found by the customs authorities, and tested positive on March 23. The woman was confirmed as the 5th imported case of COVID-19 in Tianjin by the expert panel and the conditions are yet to be known. She is now in Haihe Hospital and epidemiological investigations are under way.

The city has confirmed a total of 136 locally transmitted cases so far, among which 73 are males and 63 females. 133 patients have been discharged from hospital after recovery and 3 died. 27 people are suspected of being infected with the virus. A total of 2,666 close contacts have been traced, and among them 104 are under medical observation.
