【City Characteristics】Akita Prefecture is located in the northeastern part of Honshu Island, Japan. It is rich in forest resources and has the highest rice production in the Northeast. Industries mainly include petrochemicals, metallurgy, machinery and wood processing. In recent years, Akita Prefecture has attached importance to the development of high-tech industries such as aerospace and wind power generation.
